Dear Friends,
A warm welcome to this month’s edition of Park News.
The Thai New Year in April 2008 brings with it the opportunity to introduce to you a few of our new happenings in the hotel. Firstly we have completed the final phase of our accommodation project, all 402 rooms now boast a fresh new look including the four floors of new Business Deluxe Rooms. If you have yet to experience our new style business rooms then please ask any of the team to personally show you around.
Plans are well advanced to commence our face lift of the Mori Grill Japanese Restaurant this year. An exciting interior is planned, which will not only offer more variety, but will also increase seating capacity for this ever popular restaurant.
Our annual “Love is All Around” wedding fair will be held on the last weekend of July. Couples looking for new ideas for their perfect day shouldn’t miss the opportunity to learn about our exclusive offers and privileges. Remember many of the offers are available only during the fair, so make a note to visit us on 26th- 27th July, 2008.

As the temperature around town noticeably soars signaling the peak of summer, I am reminded of the holidays which allow us to spend precious time with our families and loved ones and of course, we want them to be memorable. Boxing Match
Khun Alongkorn Polbutr together with the Foundation of Alternative Energy Ethanol - Biodiesel Thailand led by Apichart Chayopas, CEO of the Chaophya Park Hotel recently organised the Ethanol Boxing Match between Farsai Sakkreerin and Simson Butarbutar within the hotel premises.

Congratulations
BANGKOK: At the 8th January 2008 meeting of Skal Intl Bangkok, Mr. Andrew J Wood, General Manager, Chaophya Park Hotel & Resorts, was elected President for 2008-2010. Skal International is the world’s largest association of travel and tourism professionals with over 22,000 members worldwide. Mr. Wood replaces Mr. Brian Sinclair Thompson of SWISS International airlines, who hands over responsibility after a very successful 4 year tenure. Mr. Wood is also the Skal International Councillor for Thailand and Skal Asian Area Director of Development. The Skal Club of Bangkok was formed in 1956 (Club No.153) and currently has 94 members.

Welcome Dutch Pianist
Seen recently at the Mori Grill Restaurant of the Chaophya Park Hotel, Bangkok, were famous Dutch pianist, Mrs. Regina Albrink (2nd right) and Dutch actor, Mr. Klaas Hofstra (left) together with Mr. Pieter Hoek (centre), President of the Bangkok Dutch Society. All are friends and guests of longtime Thailand resident and fellow Dutchman, Mrs. Cornelia Bik (2nd left). The friends were welcomed by hotel General Manager, Andrew J Wood (right). Mrs. Albrink was in Thailand to perform a piano recital featuring the music of Ludwig Van Beethoven at the Dutch Embassy Residence in Bangkok, followed by a second recital in Pattaya.

Green Night Party 2008
Executives of the hotel led by General Manager Andrew J. Wood recently held the annual staff party under the theme of “Green Night Party 2008” to say thank you for a fruitful year by the hardworking staff and also to encourage unity within the establishment. The party included several fun activities and fancy dress contest following the theme of earth conservation and awareness.
